Why is it that two people having equal muscle size and power, the same bodyfat and yet they have different looking abs, biceps and noses? Getting the best possible abs is always a concerted effort of just two simple things: (1) building up the ab muscles and (2) reducing the body fat covering the ab muscles. When you accomplish this two simple things, you might show abs like that of Brad Pitt or may not look like Brad’s. Nonetheless, either way you will still look as good as you can imagine given the right set of genes. And that’s all you can ask for in your life.

How do you build your abs muscles? There are a number of techniques, ways, strategies on how to really develop ab muscles. You have probably seen all those exercise gadgets sold in AS SEEN ON TV channels which would entice you to buy for easier and faster ab muscle development. But haven’t you noticed that none of these abs exercise gadgets allow you to add serious weight to increase intensity?

The most intense exercise that you can perform to target your ab muscles is to perform weight crunches. Adding weight to crunches increase the overload to the target ab muscles and will allow you to employ progressive overload which is an essential condition for muscular hypertrophy.The second step is to reduce body fat. There is actually no stead and fast rule in losing fat. There is no direct secret to losing fat. But the principle goes that you should burn more calories than you consume. But you can not just spot reduce fat from just your abs. You need to reduce your overall body fat. One great way is to engage in low intensity aerobics such as walking on a treadmill, stationary biking, and the like. The real key here is to make certain that the intensity is low enough that you can do it every day of the week without any problem of fatigue.That means you can still carry on a normal conversation or talk on the telephone while doing the low intensity arerobics. Higher intensity than this requires more time off between work outs and that means less activity and fat burning.
In the longer term, nothing beats adding more muscles to your body as it increases calorie burning and makes it easier to keep the fat away.
So do not be lured with fancy training gadgets, or quicky weight loss powders. Getting your best looking abs is a challenging goal using the rational principles of building abs muscles and reducing yur bodyfat the same way.
